This fort is built on a hill called Bangra in the central part of Jhansi Nagar. It was built in 1613 by Bundela Raja Veer Singh Joo Dev of Orchha. Before the construction of the fort, the name of this city was Balwant Nagar. The name Zhani (Dhaudhala) of this fort from Rajdhari Orchha, because of its name became Jhansi in Jhansi and Kalantar. Maharani Laxmibai, who was the local in the construction of the fort, jumped out of the ramparts after being surrounded by the British. Even today, this place is known as Jumping Spot. Ganesh temple, Shivalaya, Panchmahal, Fansighar, Rani's garden, strong lightning cannon, tomb of Rani's gunman Ghulam Gaus Khan etc. are worth seeing in the fort.
